Frederiksbjerg The pick
Frederiksbjerg won on density of independents. Within a few blocks you get Restaurant Hærværk doing serious cooking, Kazo Izakaya, Bouchon Vin- og Madbar, Street Coffee on Brammersgade, Højkant selling design, Marianne Røgild, and Lige Om Hjørnet. All of it independent, all of it built by people who live there, none of it planned by a developer or propped up by tourists. That's the test the others failed. Latinerkvarteret has the crowds, Ceresbyen has the architects, Trøjborg has the community. Frederiksbjerg has all three ingredients and grew them itself, one shopfront at a time, over decades. You can't fake that and you can't fast-track it. Number one.
