Yeldeğirmeni The pick
Yeldeğirmeni won because it's the only one still deciding what it is. Balat had its aesthetic copied across the whole city. Karaköy got a Renzo Piano museum and a cruise terminal. Moda finished changing years ago. Yeldeğirmeni is mid-sentence. You can drink at Karga Bar, dig through racks at Hurda, eat at Pålegg, and the block still smells like a working neighborhood, not a set. The rents haven't caught up with the reputation. The murals went up without a sponsor. That gap, between what a place is and what it's priced at, is where cool actually lives. Yeldeğirmeni has the widest gap in Istanbul right now.
