Pigneto The pick
Pigneto won on trajectory. Ostiense has bigger murals, San Lorenzo has deeper politics, Testaccio has better carbonara. Pigneto has the thing none of them have anymore: it is still becoming. No Soho House has landed. No mural has been commissioned by a gallery and then painted over. The scene runs at street level, a record shop like Radiation Records, a bookshop like Risma, a cocktail room like CO.SO. that would be famous in any other city and here is just Tuesday. The others are defending an identity or polishing one. Pigneto is still writing its own. That is what Brooklyn felt like at the right moment.
