Jabal al-Weibdeh The pick
Weibdeh won on residency. The artists here have addresses, not pop-ups. Nebo roasts on the hill, Jadal runs its programming year-round, and Armagan and Joz Hind keep their doors open on a Tuesday in February. That's the test. Rainbow Street compresses its craft scene into a Friday market. Jabal Amman finished its renovation a generation ago. Abdali was drawn by a developer. Weibdeh is still being made by the people who live in it, which is why the stairways down to Basman Street feel like part of the neighborhood and not a photo stop. It beat the others because its culture doesn't need an event to show up.
