Book 6-8 weeks ahead for May through September and around major trade fairs, when rates in Kreuzberg can double. The Berlin Marathon weekend in late September, Christopher Street Day in July, and the film festival in February also tighten supply. Larger chains often bundle breakfast, but most independent and design-led places in Kreuzberg charge it separately, typically 15-22 euros. Skip it. The neighborhood's bakeries and cafes serve better coffee and proper sourdough, and a full breakfast plate at a local spot runs around 10-14 euros. Yes, broadly. Kreuzberg is dense, lively, and well-lit most nights. Petty theft and pickpocketing happen around the canal area and major U-Bahn stations on weekends, especially in summer.
