Granary District is Salt Lake City's trendiest neighborhood right now. The energy here is still raw enough that a new taproom or print studio opens between the freight tracks every few months, and nobody's polished it for Instagram yet.

The best boutique hotels in Granary District include Ellerbeck Bed & Breakfast, Inn On the Hill, and evo Hotel Salt Lake. An 1892 Victorian mansion on B Street in the Avenues with six antique-filled suites, each with a private bath and a three-course Pioneer Breakfast included.

Granary District is a lived-in creative neighborhood, not a tourist compound. Bars and restaurants here stay busy late, which keeps streets active. Use normal city awareness.

Salt Lake City rates $$$ on a global travel scale. Moderate to expensive, but Granary District's independent spots offer better value than tourist areas.

September is the sweet spot: highs in the 70s F, cool evenings, dry air, and canyons going gold by month's end. May and early June are good for hiking before the high country fully clears of snow. Avoid July and August, when it hits 95-100 F and wildfire smoke can settle in the valley. For skiing, January through March is peak, with resorts a 45-minute drive away.
