Les Chartrons The pick
Les Chartrons won on density. Not history, not vibe, density. Walk Rue Notre Dame and count how many places you'd actually go back to: Symbiose for the cocktails behind the restaurant, Bar Notre Dame for coffee done properly, Riot Skateshop because a neighborhood needs a skateshop, Le Sobre for the wine. That accumulation took two decades, and no committee gets the credit. Saint-Michel is rawer, Bassins à Flot is newer, La Bastide is cheaper. But none of them let you spend a full day inside twenty good rooms without repeating yourself. Chartrons does.
