Veli Varoš The pick
Varoš won because it does two things at once and neither one is fake. The bones are a fishermen's quarter, stone lanes climbing toward Marjan, konobas like Fetivi that were feeding locals long before anyone said the word roastery. On top of that sits a new layer that actually fits: Stow and kava² pulling proper espresso, Cicibela pouring natural wine, Analogija and Jungla proving small retail can survive here. Bačvice goes quiet in October. Meje was never loud. Varoš runs twelve months a year, five minutes from the palace, and it still belongs to the people who live in it. No other quarter manages all three.
